Generally, Solomon-Godeau’s approach is characterized by an impressively integrated weaving of psychoanalytic, Marxian, and specifically feminist theories, which she employs in examining the construction or deconstruction of bourgeois subjectivity and particularly sexual identities in various photographic practices.
