Although I think that this doesn’t really qualify as anything you would drink your coffee and relax with on a cold, rainy day, I do think that this book does belong on the books to read before you die list.

Peter Manson

Why this is a must read selection in a the must read books is beyond me. The first words confirmed my suspicions that it was pretentious gobbledy-gook.

Sep 26, Lisa Bonack rated it it was ok. This is probably the strangest entry to the list. I found myself getting addicted to the book. Avant garde collection of observances and commentary on artists, musicians and their ilk interspersed with diary entries.

One day the racing-driver James Hunt died, and I noted the fact in Adjunct.

I found myself getting addicted to the book. Immediately I got the sense that Manson was relating his work mabson to the music of John Cage.

If there is a flow or a pattern in the novel, it is a fluke because he wrote the phrases at random. I was gasp having fun. The language is choppy and almost paranoid at times.
