Also, although I understand that the book was based on the author’s life, I thought that the combination of experiences and style were just creepy, especially since the matter of fact tone did not reveal any emotion. A fact which flavored my reading of the book, and I almost wish I hadn’t known This book reads like poetry, more or less in prose form.
A humorous and disturbing novel, colored by a fascinating child narrator struggling as she grows to express herself through written language.
