This content is really very good and does a great job of making this more of a story and dynamic adventure and less undemountain a boring dungeon crawl. There were so many books before this. Where I feel the product was wanting was in the price point, and the contents.

I don’t find this particularly useful. And while this is a VERY expansive covering of the first level, it would have been really neat to see the second and third levels as well at least.

One person found this helpful. This realisation, that I want to play DnD, took quite a bit of time to solidify. I imagine this has been done to conserve space, and I think that it was the right call. Many iconic locations are still faithfully represented and the layouts are not presented in a way that are uhdermountain instruction heavy. The story hooks are not that great, and many encounters are just weird. Please try again later. I didn’t read the older Undermountain supplements before thbut my hopes where high because of its strong reputation.
Created ages ago by the wizard Halaster, the sprawling dungeon is a lair for terrible monsters and ruthless villains. It isn’t the largest supplement, but it does a fantastic job of laying out the 1st level of Undermountain.
The Deep Levels inthree modules in the Dungeon Crawl Series inand a hardcover book, Expedition to Undermountainpublished in I found it easy to “scale” things up or down to be appropriate to the party.
And to date, there have been six supplements and modules featuring various parts of this massive delve, starting with The Ruins of Undermountain boxed set inanother boxed set called The Ruins of Undermountain II: Part of me is kicking myself for going full retail, but the other voice is saying “what’s done is done.
The map for the Yawning Portal is amazing. As an adventure, it provides three good adventures to draw characters into Undermountain. The second map details three encounter areas which appear in three adventures of Halls of Undermountain.
New magic items are provided, as well as some traps. I’ll have to check the maps and let you know, if I remember I’ll take it, and likely use it sooner or later, but it would have been that much better though if it had been volume one of a new series.
