In theory, it’s a great story. Ich war ziemlich schnell mit dem Buch durch. Bridget’s father is basically absent, and she resents her stepmother Meredith, who is anything but the evil stepmother.
Sure, she’ll set things right because she feels bad about what she did. Alle schlechten Eigenschaften, die jemand haben kann, hat sie Bridget verpasst.
Has Bridget learned her lesson far too late? You’ll fall in love. Paige Harbison hat sie so stark gezeichnet, dass ich sie irgendwann regelrecht gehasst habe. She has pretty much everything she wants, except for her mother who diedher boyfriend who broke up with her and her father who’s a popular sports announcer and rarely home.
So what happens when a bere girl arrives at the school and slowly strips Bridget of her title? That said, I absolutely hated Bridget. I’m on the fence about Here Lies Bridget. She totally deserves it. At first I thought that Here Lies Bridget would be a retelling of the story A Christmas Carolwhere the old man is visited by the ghosts from the past, present and future. So my question to anyone who didn’t like Bridget is this: She might think everyone worships her and wants to be her, but deep down they’re all afraid of her. And then, she knows what to do. As she goes of the road, she goes back in her life story to explain how she got to that point. Thanks for telling us about the problem.
What about the writing? Hence my three-star rating. I guess I kind of did like the step mum. I wanted more remarkable change from her.

Ezhno, the teacher habrison lost his job because of a vicious rumor; Michelle, the friend whose self-esteem Bridget destroyed; and Liam, the paigge who missed his best friend. It is full of joy and yet full of pain. As you read you almost want to say that she deserves what she gets, but really nobody deserves to die, no matter what. She knows exactly what she is doing, and she doesn’t think it’s wrong.

bh Then, I read on. The second chapter goes back to explain what brought Bridget, the most paiye girl in school to the contemplation of suicide. Die Nebencharaktere haben allesamt ebenso viel Farbe abbekommen wie die Hauptprotagonistin.
Harbison does a wonderful job of dropping little hints as to why Bridget behaves as she does, casually working in her dad’s disapproval of her tight Von Dutch jeans, or Bridget’s desire, in elementary school, for another girl’s name.
