But once I started “Jaya” I just couldn’t put it down. Finally,This is complete waste of money and time. I don’t think this book would make sense if you did not already know fairly well the story. With clarity and simplicity, the tales in this elegant volume reveal the eternal relevance of the Mahabharata, the complex and disturbing meditation on the human condition that has shaped Indian thought for o years.
Even as one feels the familiarity thanks to the places which still exist mentioned and can identify with the experiences and tribulations of the mortal characters, there is also an awe created by the elements of divinity. The Mahabharata is considered an Itihasa, meaning history.
